About the artist

Naima Haque, who is an illustrator, freelance artist and teacher (at the Institute of Fine Arts, DU), did her Masters in Graphics Design from Baroda. Her teachers in India included Jairam Patel and Sant, while her teachers in Bangladesh were Aminul Islam, Abdul Basset, and Rafiqun Nabi. Initially Naima didn’t think much of illustrations but later she realised that it was parallel to painting. The only difference was that in graphics “one waited for the client to provide the subject”. Naima is comfortable in any media, whether it be oil or acrylic or water- colour or even crayon. She loves to vary her style. After her battling in the world of graphics, she came home to take up the role of a mother. Thus she had a break in her creative work and found it difficult to paint and draw. Painting is something like singing, Naima has exhibited in Russia, Germany, Japan and India. Her painting collections are in USA, UK and Africa. She received four Japanese prizes for her picture books. As a student she received an Institute of Fine Arts Award in 1975.

Step 1: To protect against moisture, wrap the artwork with plastic sheeting/poly wrap or put it inside a heavy plastic bag. Use tape to seal all areas where water can enter and cause damage.

Step 2: Wrap the entire work with bubble wrap for a protective padding. Using tape to secure it shut.

Step 3: Place the bubble wrap-covered painting into a corrugated box. Fill the empty space with enough wadded/shredded paper to ensure that the artwork doesn’t shift during transit.

Step 4: Use the packing tape to seal the box.

Step 5: Affix the delivery address to the package and put clear tape over the label so it doesn’t get removed during handling.
